When it comes to installing Nema 14-50 outlets or EV chargers for apartments and condos it can get tricky. It all depends on whether or not your property manager or HOA has experience with the installation process for plug-in hybrid or electric vehicles. Either way Chamberlin Power can help, we have dealt with all types of EV charger or Nema 14-50 installations for the past several years.

Nema 14-50 Apartment Complex Installation

This client needed a Nema 14-50 outlet installed in their apartment building. The property manager requested a couple of things from the tenant:

  1. A licenced electrician must do the work
  2. The electrician must provide proof of Liability and Workers Comp Insurance
  3. A scope of work, or plans of the installation of the EV charger

We were able to provide the property manager with that information quickly and get the installation of the Nema 14-50 receptacle approved. After a couple of hours of work the client can now charge her new Tesla in her parking garage.
